Shilla Korean Restaurant

Last Wednesday, Rosie and I went out for a meal for her birthday. We thought we'd try somewhere new and so I booked us a table at Shilla on Dundas Street. This Korean Restuarant is modernly decorated and seems to have a fair number of tables. At 7pm on a Wednesday it was quiet, but not completely empty.

The first thing that struck us was how extensive the menu was, I would happily have ordered pretty much any of the mains, and I feel like I have to go back to try some of the other options. We had grilled dumplings and Prawn skewers to start followed by a spicy prawn dish and some kind of noodle dish to follow. All the food was excellent and extremely tasty, my prawns were especially nice.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and definitely want to go back to try more of the menu.

South Park Season 6

I've now finished watching another great season of South Park, highlights from this series include a Lord of the Rings parody, the Death Camp of Tolerance and a Black Hawk Down homage featuring Santa's sleigh being taken out by an RPG over Baghdad.

With Kenny's permanent death at the end of Season 5, the boys have to find a replacement for him and a number of other characters step in, including quite a lot of Butters.

Again Trey Parker and Matt Stone show that they can create comedy which covers all bases from gross out to social commentary. Both utterly stupid and clever at the same time.

Score: 4.5/5

Things I learned today

Things I learned today:

* If you are 28 miles from home and you get a puncture, having a spare inner tube and a pump is not that helpful if you don't have tyre levers to get the tyre off.
* A key is not strong enough to replace a tyre lever, it will just bend and snap.
* In an pinch, a key-ring bottle opener can be used as a tyre lever, but you risk damaging your rims and with only one it's still a pain in the ass.
* Even if you can change the tube, there's no guarantee that you'll get the new tube inflated.
* Walking 4 miles with a bike with a flat tyre isn't much fun.

At least next time I'll be better prepared.
